This forum is for posting challenges to battle. The Arena is an unusual section in that it is one that straddles IC and OOC.

There may be battles that take place in the World threads as the storylines progress. But sometimes, you just need to test something out, or perhaps just have a little practice time or fun that doesn't necessarily affect the stories in the world. That's what this Arena section is for.

If you want to, you may use this area to develop character interactions for use in your character's background. It's perfectly fine to do that, but make sure you make a note of it in your character's profile. Not all the battles here, however, have anything to do with any story at all. there is no special notation you need to make, it's just for fun.

Even if your characters are already engaged in a World section thread, they may also be used simultaneously in the Arena, since the things that happen here don't affect the World forums unless you want them to.

However there is one small thing I ask you to do when using the arena section.

CHALLENGE FIRST!
This forum is for making challenges. Don't just go straight to the battlefield and clutter it up with unanswered start-battle posts. This Forum is Self pruning, so anything older than 60 days with no reply will be deleted...

You may post your challenges as though they were IC or as though they were OOC. It's completely up to you. The Battlefield forum is IC only, so only post your challenges here in this forum set aside specifically for them.

Naturally, the one you're challenging may not be checking this forum every day, so it may be useful to shoot them a PM or contact them to let them know they have a call out. It is good form to reply to the challenges whether you accept or decline. Don't just leave the challenger hanging, it's kinda rude.

The terms of the battle and negotiations of house rules should be discussed, and decided in the challenge thread. Please don't take them to the battlefield, as that is an IC only zone. Any OOC discussion about the battle in progress should be conducted outside the battlefield. The challenge thread may then also be used for that if you like. See how useful these are?

Please don't argue. That's not nice.

NPCs are also fair game. MWAHA! Feel free to challenge them, If you dare... (Evion is not responsible for the results of uneven matches made by poor selection of NPC opponents which may or may not be too tough for your character to handle.)
